Laminating

Laminating refers to the process of applying a thin porcelain or composite resin veneer to a tooth in order to improve tooth color or tooth shape. Although not as conservative as bleaching, laminates are still more conservative than many other procedures that have been done in the past to improve dental esthetics.  The materials used include acrylic veneers, processed composite resin veneers, and/or porcelain veneers that are bonded directly to a properly prepared tooth.

The usually painless procedure does not require anesthesia. The entire treatment process is done approximately in five days with about two visits to the dental clinic. Patients can preserve their natural tooth structure as much as possible since the amount of tooth reduction is minimal.
